MATLAB instrument control toolbox with the Aardvark and I2C slave

I've been trying to use the Aardvark to drive an I2c slave using the instrument control toolbox. The Aardvark driver shows up in the device manager and I've down loaded the MATLAB support. I do receive an unknown error at this point. When a create an object in MATLAB it does so, but then when I try to open to the slave, it MATLAB error stating that the slave is not present. I know that the address is correct. It looks like a software problem. I have a 64 bit machine, windows. Has anyone seen this before?
