image segmentation with shape prior

I'm a complete newbie. Recently I am doing some work for image segmentation based on level set methods with shape prior.But I don't know how could I add the shape prior functional to the energy functional. I have been reading articles for several days,but no idea came to my mind.

I have read these pages, and all these files are very classic. But my problem still in my mind. During the iteration of the contour evolution,the prior shapes have to be placed exactly at the locations of the desired objects, and also have the same poses and scales as these objects,how could this model allow for the translation, rotation and scaling of the prior shapes. Thanks.

I haven't used level sets yet. I've used activecontour(), and it can conform its shape to an object. I'm attaching a demo.
