How can I generate an ellipse with an arbitrary pixel distribution from a known histogram?

Hello! Thanks in advance for the help :)
I'm trying to generate an ellipse with an arbitrary pixel distribution from a histogram of values (128 bins in total). I'm quite new to Matlab, so unfortunately I'm kind of at a loss with where to start. Any help would be awesome, but starting from the beginning would be absolutely wonderful!
