Take a look at Randy's answer to this question: Does MATLAB Answers provide RSS feeds?

It's not email notification, but it's much better than nothing and it's available now.

In the meanwhile, a hack would be to add an abstract tag such as sdwt7912 to everything you in particular wish to monitor, and then do a tag search for that tag and order the results by date modified. You could use different tags for different categories you wish to watch, searching for that specific item or searching for some common prefix that you use for all of your tags (tag searches search everywhere in the tags; e.g., a tag search for "plot" will find "plotting" and "2D-plot" and so on.)

I don't encourage this for widespread use, but since it isn't prohibited...
