Exporting markers in plots like 'ro' 'r<' yields jagged output, circle is for example a polygon

When I try to export a figure that has a certain marker it looks bad when i export it.
Especially the circle marker 'o' looks bad as it is not exported as a circle but as a ten-sided polygon:
EDIT: Change wording of title. Using export_fig now works
