Simulink Block Data Type

I am writing some scripts to check our simulink models for errors. One of the checks that we want to perform is to search any math blocks in the model and then if its data type is signed check that its inputs are also signed. I am having trouble retrieving the data type of the math blocks. Any suggestions on determining if a block inputs/outputs are signed would be greatly appreciated.
