Ok, fixed it. Noticed that it was installed through root. Sudo'ed as su, launched MALAB through commandline (./MATLAB). It ran without prompting for a license.

Just installed a 30-day test version of MATLAB with the Data Analytics Toolbox. Got this error right off the bat. No idea what the license manager is or where to find it.
[edit] OS: Ubuntu 14.04.[/edit]
I tried to read previously posted questions on this topic. As far as I can see, no real solutions have been provided. And I have no idea what the MathWorks Hosted License Manager is or where to find it.
Anybody actually managed to solve this?

I change the owner of ~/.matlab to my username as well as default matlab location of /usr/local/MATLAB but I still need to sudo as su before I can run matlab. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
