license plate recognition- need to compare with data stored in .mat file

2 views (last 30 days)
My current project is automatic license plate recognition by using video processing for private resident. Only registered license plate are allowed to enter the gate. Currently, I reached extraction section and the character come out exactly in the cell from the video. The problem is, I need to compare the extraction words with a data stored in .mat file. I don't know how to compare the OCR result with the .mat file. Example is :
Extracted character - SXC983UY
Expected result after comparing - SXC983UY is Registered!!!
Can anyone help me to solve my problem?.

Load the .mat file. Suppose it contains a cell string of all valid licences, use
if any(strcmp(valid_licences, current_licence))
disp('Registered')
end

I understood that you already have a .mat file. Do you have a list of the valid registered license plates?
