Hi all
I have a data recorded from a measurement. It is noisy and now I want to filter that noise out using a low pass filter. I made a spectrum analysis and figured out that there are more than two peaks (6 peaks) in the fft. How will I determine the cut-off frequency of the filter to get rid of the noise? And how can I implement the filter on an offline data?

I do not think I understand about implementing the filter on "an offline data" ?
There is no way to automatically figure out which part of the signal is the noise and which is the data: it depends upon your purposes.
An example I like to give is Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation: to study it you have to deliberately block out (filter) all of the stars you can. There is a lot of work these days on Deep Field Star Maps, which do want the the star (and gas cloud) images, just the opposite of CMBR studies.
