What is the error/accuracy in depth point cloud generated by kinect using matlab in each of the three dimensions i.e x,y and z?

Does matlab genertes point clouds from kinect considering its errors? Does the generated point cloud need to be calibrated ? I would like to know the process used by matlab to convert depth data to point cloud. Thanks.
