can any one help me out with key frame extraction methods

sir, i am working on an assignment "video authentication using hash code for the video" which consists of the following steps

>>Extract frames from the video

>>identify the key frames

>>generate hash code for those key frames

the aim is to obtain a different hash code when the video is modified.For that i need to detect the frames of the video that are modified as key frames.I am facing a problem in identification of modified frame as key frame. Can any help me with this please..
