Changing the appearance of buttons in GUIDE

I've been looking through the property inspector in GUIDE to change the colour of some buttons, the default is 2 shades of grey that make it look like a button, but changing this in property inspector gives no option to make something similar and changing the colour makes a uniform colour button which looks uninteresting. I'm looking for a way to replace the background with a graphic (I still need the button to say something) or to add something similar to standard with a different colour.

You can set the CData property of the uicontrol to display an image. See here.
