completing unclear border in BW picture

hello, I'm working on detecting moving people in a video !

this is a Matrix of a black-white pic of one frame with an incomplete head border http://www.4shared.com/file/69veIHxg/BWhead.html

How can we draw the whole border of the head (continuously) inorder to determine it as an object and get its properties ?

We can't see your image. It's some mat file that requires us to wait several seconds and then we have to save the mat file. Then we'd have to write a script in MATLAB to open that mat file and display it. Why can't you just make it easy for us and upload your image to someplace like tinypic.com. Save your variable to an image file with imwrite if you need to.

I don't even know what the "head" is in that photo.

The Computer Vision Toolbox has many tools to help you with tracking. http://www.mathworks.com/help/toolbox/vision/gs/btd0kx6-1.html I suggest you buy that to save yourself a lot of time reinventing things.
