how to find distance from camera to object using a single image?

My aim is to get the height of the object. I know the distance from the camera stand to the object. using triangulation method i can find the height, if the distance between the camera and the object. My camera is tilted towards the ground. here i want to find out the distance between the camera and the object. also is it possible to get distance between the camera and multiple objects?
