Domain delimited by line

Hi! I'm creating a mesh file for a model. I need to define a portion of my space (2D model) that is delimited at the top by a line between 2 defined points (x1,y1 and x2,y2). The bottom is (x2,y2 and x3,y2). Basically a triangle with a horizontal base. I don't need a plot, just that Matlab knows the area delimited by the two lines, to be used later in the process. How I can set up a script to do that?

I'm sorry, but I started to use matlab just few weeks ago.. How the polyarea works? The matlab help is not friendly for me..
