How can i draw a cylinder with a temperature distribution on it?

I need to draw a cylinder with colorful surface according to temperature function. The distribution I have is axi-symmetric and I have the distribution in a vertical and horizontal cuts, but what really can be seen is the temperature on the side wall and the top and bottom surface of the cylinder.
