Moving from 2011b to 2012a network licensing - do I need to reinstall FlexLM?

1 view (last 30 days)
Our FlexLM network license manager for MATLAB is currently at version 11.9. Do I need to remove and replace with the license manager on the 2012a release if the new FlexLM is still at version 11.9?
We'd prefer to go the easier route of just updating the license file so 2012a customers can get a concurrent license from the license manager.
Thanks!

FlexLM consists of three major parts: The lmgrd part (provided by FlexLM), the vendor daemon, provided by the vendor (in this case, MathWorks) and the license file. If the lmgrd/FlexLM version is the same, you would still also need to extract the vendor daemon in addition to updating the license file. It would likely take the same amount of time to just update everything the "right" way if these are the only licenses you are running.
That said, if you want to know if the versions changed, I'd call Licensing / Install support.
