Hey all, I've been trying to simulate a hybrid stepper motor by using microstepping. Therefore, i took the power_steppermotor demo that comes with matlab/simulink and intended to feed it with a signal similiar to the one explained on page 8, http://www.deltron.ch/pdf/produkte/motoren/Schrittmotor_kurz_erklaert_d.pdf However, given the stepper motor demo, I get an unstable system reply just by decreasing the required step angle in the motor parameter dialog box to less than 0,45°. Is there any example for a stepper motor in micro step control? I'm looking for a couple of hours so far but I'm unable to find anything appropriate... Hope you can help me out somehow.

A good starting point is the Stepper Motor Averaged Mode example in Simscape Electrical. In this example there are three stepping methods: Full stepping, Half stepping, and Microstepping.
