Trouble installing MATLAB student version R2011a.

2 views (last 30 days)
I'm trying to install MATLAB student version R2011a on my 32-bit Windows system. When I get to the "specify installation folder" section and try to use the default path and select "next" I get the following message pop up.
"One or more of the following products are required to proceed with the installation: MATLAB 7.12 (Not available) You must select a folder where at least one of these products is installed or select these additional products for installation."
Can someone explain to me what I need to do in order to resolve this issue?

There is free support for installation problems (including for student releases)

It sounds like you're missing installation files for MATLAB. If you're installing from downloads, check the folder you downloaded the installer to. There should also be .zip files that correspond to the products:
MATLAB712_common.zip MATLAB712_win32.zip
-Make sure these were completely downloaded. -Do not unzip them. -Make sure they're in the same folder as the installer.
Walter is also right. Any problems you have with MATLAB up until the point where it's installed and opens up you can contact support for.
