How can I convert a pdf file to image?

Hi all,

I am just looking for a way of converting a pdf file (just one page) scanned from my personal scanner( which scans directly to pdf on my computer) automatically in Matlab in order to compare the converted file (pdf to image) to another image? The pdf will have no images, only text and small rectangles. I saw some stuff by using ghostscript but it is a dead end for me. I welcome any other ways beside converting the pdf in order to do the job.

Thanking you advance...

PDF readers often have a "Save As" function to allow you to save into an image format.
