Is there any function in Matlab that reduce a dynamic system order and their states have physical meaning?

There are different function for reduction order in Matlab, but is there any that its reduced states have physical meaning?

What does "physical meaning" mean? Even "reduce a dynamic system" can mean a bunch of different problems.
