How to save cell data from workspace?

I want to save my xy3 cell contains 2401x1
And I save to .mat file , then when I import data in workspace
it's show error "file contains uninterpretable data"
Why I can't read the cell file

Please post the SAVE command you are using for storing the data. Then we can suggest a corresponding LOAD command.

Do not uiimport() or import() your data: load() it.

I use
load(filename.mat);
but still no data read to workspace

This is my save code
savefile = 'listmode data.mat';
save(savefile, 'xy3');
It appear this error:
Warning: Variable 'xy3' cannot be saved to a MAT-file whose version is
older than 7.3.
To save this variable, use the -v7.3 switch.

Hi, Sir,I have the same question,I want to save the workspace data which including Map,cell,and array.My purpose is saving the earlier data and using them in now calulating.How can I save them all in a text or whatever else.
