how to detect a bed in a room with video camera

what are the different method s to detect a bed in a room with video camera through MATLAB.one may be edge detection or may be region area defining..please tell any one method with example..

The bed has to have a video camera ?? How is that to be tested for? e.g., are you using a gamma ray spectrometer to scan scenes and out of the results you want to find the ones that correspond to rooms that contain beds that have video cameras attached to them ?
