adding data to plot 2012a vs 2011a

Hey all, this might be a silly question, but I just upgraded from 2011a to 2012a, and I'm mightily annoyed by the figure UI. In 2011a, when I made a plot, I could right-click on the plot in plot edit mode, select 'Add data', and it would plot a new line on the existing graph. However, in 2012a, when I try the same sequence, it does not add the new data to the existing graph, but rather replaces the existing data on the graph. Is there a way to get around this?

It sounds like you want the 'NextPlot' property to be 'add' by default.

set(0,'DefaultAxesNextPlot','add')
