how can save the features of fingerprint as a template

Actually i extracted the features(terminations& bifurcation points) from fingerprint by using some function i.e min_display=get_minutiae_data(fingfile,1) the output of the function is min_display ,if i executed as figure,imshow(min_display),it was showing the desired output as a figure ,hence i want to store that figure(min_display) as a template by using save command but i am unable to write code for it.please help me
