Botched dicom image after rgb conversion

I converted a 4D dicom image into rgb like this:

image_data = dicomread('TumorSimOutput2T1Gad.dcm');
rgb4Dimage = image_data(:,:,[1 1 1],:); 
index = 45;
imshow (rgb4Dimage(:,:,index),[]);

the image appears botched, like this: http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/6451/botched.png

How can I correct this?
