Whether it is possible to determine statistical features of 3D image using 2D image using matlab code.

Hi, I worked on the mammogram images and calculated features like mean,area etc.presently working on Breast tomosynthesis that is 3D.With mammogram images (2D)whether we can find 3D characteristics.

Statistically, yes you can, you can use "stereology" (not related at all to sereoscopy or stereo views).
