Unable to activate R2011a on Linux Mint 64-bit

I run the install and select the license to use. After getting to "...This information will be sent to Mathworks." I click Activate, and get: "Error 603: Information needed to identify your computer is missing or invalid."
It works fine on R2010SP1.
I've tried this on multiple different network connections, so it doesn't seem to be that.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Please contact Mathworks Installation and Licensing support for help with installation/activation problems.

You can also log into your Mathworks account and fetch the license file for you computer manually and than use the manual activation option. I had the same problem just now and the manual activation worked for me. You find the license file under you account / manage your licenses.
Should be easy.

I have no idea where I can download the actual license file from. There is no option for that under manage your licenses or I am just blind.

I had the same problem earlier today. I do not understand the cause, but it turned out to be a permissions issue even though I was running the install script as root. When /../matlab_dir/licenses/ is owned by $user, activation went smoothly.
