Using counter on NI card in 'Buffered Period Measurement' mode

Hello,
I want to use a one of the two clocks of an NI USB-6211 card in what is called Buffered Period Measurement ( 8-7 ).
Is this possible? Up till now i only was able to set the counter to 'Edge Counting', 'PulseWidth' I cannot use, because I cannot control the period the gate signal is set to high.
