How can I overlay an image onto a pre-plotted worldmap?

What I'm going for is a worldmap with a sectional chart (Chicago; covers multiple states) placed over a specific area of latitude and longitude values; the sectional chart needs to line up with the worldmap, essentially. I feel like the geoshow function is applicable here, but I'm not sure how to correctly implement it, given the context.

As of now, I can enter an ICAO code (airport code) and my function will plot the airport's exact position on the world map. I would just like the sectional chart to be shown underneath the plotted airport rather than simple state boundaries.
