How to realize z-transform for an image?

Applying z-transform on an image,and it is what I am now trying to do. But I just can not figure it out. Can anyone just help?

Since f can be a matrix of symbolic expressions, then potentially it could be a matrix filled with symbolic numbers, such as would be obtained by applying sym() to your image matrix.

Personally I expect you would have trouble, as you have no variables involved.
