Solving reynolds equation for gas journal bearings

29 views (last 30 days)
Hello I have to solve the reynolds equation for an isothermal gas journal bearing.
The equation is written:
Therby H is an function of H(xi,theta, tau)
My question can I solve this equation for p(xi,theta, tau) with the pde toolbox.

Hi,
It looks like you want to solve the nonlinear version of the Reynolds equation. I believe that should be possible with PDE Toolbox versions R2012b or newer.
You might want to take a look at this example of solving a nonlinear, transient heat transfer problem
