Fibre Orientation from Image

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to Matlab and I was hoping someone might be able to provide some insight into a script that would allow me to obtain fibre / line orientation from a 2D image. I'm currently using a fourier method, although I'm struggling to obtain the fibre angle plots from the fourier transform.

Could someone suggest a method of doing so please? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Example images are always good for this type of thing.

Have you seen regionprops in the Image Processing Toolbox, it has an 'Orientation' option?
