MAC-power pc applications are no longer supported

Hi,

I am trying to install R2013a version of MATLAB to my MacIntosh . Operating System is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b) and as I know MATLAB is supported on this. But when I tried to install MATLAB though I was greeted by the same problem: PowerPC Applications No Longer Supported. Is there any way for me to get around this problem? Thank you?

This is puzzling. The combination you describe is indeed supported, but the error message suggests that older PowerPC binaries are being installed. This is surprising, since MathWorks has not produced a PowerPC-compatible version of MATLAB since 2008 or 2009.

First, confirm that you installing the R2013a of MATLAB, and please update this topic with more specific steps so other can see what you are seeing -- are you installing from DVD, web download, or what?

Do you have an older Matlab version installed already?

I have the same problem as above. Trying to install R2013a & R2012b. My operating system is also 10.7.5!

I am sure that I have never installed Matlab before. I'm trying to install it from a .iso file which I downloaded from the web.
