i used find command to locate the position for a particular number. it just mentions the position. how to find the corresponding row and column of the number a=[21 22 23;24 28 25;26 28 27]; i would like to know the row and column for number 28...

Use find() with two output arguments
[i,j] = find(a==28)
as described in the documentation
