Matlab (Mac) suddenly not working on startup

2 views (last 30 days)
Strange one this, On startup matlab is unresponsive, despite everything appearing to have initialised fine and the status shown as Ready. Don't think anything has changed since it was working last week. Have uninstalled, reinstalled multiple times. Even installed an older version (2010a) and problem still existed. One thing that was additionally strange was that despite uninstalling and reinstalling, the files paths and command history remained :-/
Wondered if this was a known issue but can provide additional details if required
Matlab R2012a, macbook pro 2.4 Ghz intel.

Bang on, many thanks for the prompt response - it is much appreciated.
Updated Java as per the above link and everything seems ok now. With regard to the file paths and command history, I simply didn't realise these were held separately in a preferences folder hence why things remained, despite fresh install.
