Matlabpool in Red hat system can not work

Hi all,
I'm using Matlab R2012a in Red hat linux system. When I was using matlabpool as the command, it gave out something error.
Error using matlabpool (line 134) Java exception occurred: java.lang.NullPointerException at java.util.logging.Logger.demandLogger(Logger.java:286) at java.util.logging.Logger.getLogger(Logger.java:321)
I don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help please?
