Plotting in data in cylindrical coordinate?

I am trying to plot data of [r,th,Z] on a 2D plot. where Z is a function of r, th in a cylindrical coordinate. I know I can covert r, th to x and y using sine and cosine function, but still can not find a way to plot it. I want a contour-lie plot of z at any x,y or r,th. Can anybody please help?
