Is there a way to mark a question and its answers for my own interest?

2 views (last 30 days)
Sometimes I read a question and its answers and feel it is useful for my own interest. But I didn't ask that question nor did I provide an answer so it won't be in "My Questions" or "My Answers". Is there a way that I can mark it and put it in "My QA Collection"? Would this feature be desirable and helpful?

Sorry, there is no way to do that. You can bookmark it, though -- I have determined that even if the question title is edited that the old URLs will continue to work.
You may want to add this facility to the wish-list

I am assured that the MATLAB Central people keep a close watch on the Wish-List.
That said, they _do_ use the votes for particular wishes as a guide-line to priorities, so unless it is trivial to do, it might not get done "soon".

tagging would be less intrusive than a dummy Answer, but would clearly become unworkable if people took to that en-mass. And there is always the danger that I will edit away a tag whose meaning is not clear. For now I would recommend bookmarking.

No (not yet anyway). If you want that, you have to use Google for the newsgroup. With Google, you can click on the star and it will highlight the star next to the threads that you want to monitor. So I always "star" the threads I've participated in so that I can later spot them easily in the long list of postings. I really wish Answers, and the Mathworks newsreader had that capability.
