Image handling with MATLAB

can i hande image as a matrix in MATLAB environment? or is there any special functions to handle the image?

Of course you can! Look at the "imread" function and start reading here: http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/creating_plots/the-image-object-and-its-properties.html
