National Instruments 'X-Series USB-6356' and Simulink Real-Time Windows Target

Hello everybody,
I've been successfully using the NI USB X Series 6356 DAQ board for data aquisition using matlab's DAQ toolbox for several months. Now, I wish to close a feedback loop, preferably via Simulink. We have a very 'fast' system which needs an update rate of at least 10 kHz. In order to reach that goal, it might be desirable to compile the simulink program to speed everything up. However, the DAQ toolbox does not support code generation.
Normally, one could now use Simulink Real-Time Windows Target to make fast applications. Unfortunately, I discovered that the NI USB X-Series Boards are not officially supported by Real-Time Windows Target. Does anybody know the reason for that?
And, does anybody know if there is a way out there to include the DAQ toolbox/ the NI USB-6356 board in code generation?
We're using: Win7 x64 Matlab R2013a x32 NI DAQmx 9.8
Any help is appreciated!
