is it necessary to use all 4 databases for my fingerprint segmentation algorithm and that too of FVC2006???

hi all, As a part of my curriculum for masters i have to publish two papers and write research thesis. at present i am trying fingerprint segmentation algorithm.
1) code is working good for DB1(set B) but but below average for DB2(set B) http://bias.csr.unibo.it/fvc2004/databases.asp
So, is it compulsory i have to tune my code for all DBs and that too for FVC2006 only??
Please help.

That is a question you will need to resolve with your supervisor.
My thought would be that if you could find some very accurate or very fast way of handling DB1 alone, that that could be worth a paper itself. But I would expect that for the purposes of your thesis that you would be expected to be able to describe why DB2 does not work with your algorithm, and expected to prove that fingerprints recorded through the techniques used in DB1 either cannot have the blocking limitation or at least have a sufficiently low probability of encountering the limitation.

As far as our supervisor is concerned its just for college formality. I am on my own.
And how can I (or which authority will) calculate accuracy quantitatively . I can only say that this algo gives visually good result that can used in next AFIS steps e.g. finding singularity/core points.
