GUI Edit Text Autocomplete?

Is there a way for an autocomplete pop-up to appear on an Edit Text component of a MATLAB GUI? The desired behavior I'm looking for is the user enters 3 or more characters and then the GUI program searches a given string array and displays a list of potential matches which the user can then select from. I don't want to have a pop-up menu because the list is over 5000 items. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Eddy
It's been a long time, but now I'm looking for the same thing. Did you find any solution?
Thanks

See if this gives any pointers
Also you could have a small button next to the edit text which would simply autocomplete the string. On each click it would cycle through the matching list.

Thanks, I did see that link prior to my post but it doesn't really help. What I'm looking for is a search-engine-like way of typing into the edit text box and having the program dynamically pop up suggestions given what the user has typed so far and what the valid inputs are.

As far as i see, you should either do it the way Vishal says. Otherwise, You have to use Dynamic Java methods.
