How to apply low pass filter (on voltage vs time data) by matlab?

I have 20000 voltage outputs at a 1ms sampling rate. I have already apply fft on this voltage output and plot power spectral density. Now in order to reduce noise I want to apply low pass filter at cut off frequency 300Hz. How is the steps to do it in matlab? Thanks in advance.

There are many different low pass filters with a certain cut-off frequency. What about a Butterworth filter of order 3?
