so recently I bought the student version of matlab of the mathworks website for university projects and what not.... but my laptop decided to be annoying and not work properly. so i want to get a new one and transfer all my files and downloaded programs (ie MathLab R2012b) onto the new computer with out purchasing a new copy.
How can i do this? is it possible?
Thanks in advance.

  1. Transfer your files to your new laptop
  2. uninstall Matlab from your old laptop
  3. and install a copy of Matlab you bought in your new laptop

Veena, when you uninstall it from your old computer, make sure you " deactivate your license " - don't worry if you forget, it will ask you. Then you can activate it on your new computer after installation.

Remember that Matlab's technical support gains support for installation and activation problems. If you have lost your copy of the installation files, they are the right persons to ask. Of course there is no valid source to download the installation files from elsewhere.
