Importing data with a Timestamp into MATLAB and converting to a Dataset Array

I am having trouble importing a .dat file into MATLAB. Essentially the first four rows of the file are in string format while the remaining rows are numeric apart for the first column which is a Timestamp. I have no problem importing the numeric data. It's the Timestamp that is giving me trouble as I need this for my Dataset Array. Has any one any suggestions on how to do this effectively?
