Stop the editor from opening automatically?

Is there any way to stop the editor from opening automatically every time I run a new instance??

I can't see a setting for it in the preferences. I've disabled the "on restart reopen files" and "automatically open files" options yet still when I open a new session (alongside another open session) it will open the editor with the same files open.

Any help would be appreciated!
