Breast x-ray Image Segmentation

Hi,

I have an X-ray breast image, how to segment the breast area from any other objects in the image such as annotation and labels? I have tried to use BlobsDemo.m . It gives me different blobs, so I choose the largest one. as such by adjusting the threshold, I can segment the breast area and it works fine. but if there is a label in the image, then that particular labels will be in the largest blobs? how to get rid of that labels or that area?

I don't see any image attached. The proposed algorithm should work but you didn't attach your image or m-file, so not much more I can do.
