Can I use the Image Acquisition Toolbox 1.0 (R13.0.1+) for machine vision applications?

I want to use the Image Acquisition Toolbox to help automate an industrial process at my company using machine vision. For example, I want to analyze the image of a part to determine if it has any defects, then I want to package them and sort the boxes via barcode. Can the Image Acquisition Toolbox help me do this?

The Image Acquisition Toolbox is not specifically designed to perform industrial machine vision because we do not support all the technical hardware and software requirements necessary for industrial level machine vision applications. However, you can use the Image Acquisition Toolbox in combination with other toolboxes from MathWorks to perform non-industrial machine vision tasks. For example, using the Image Acquisition and Data Acquisition Toolboxes, you can control the position of a piece of manufacturing test equipment.
