Why do I receive a Model Advisor warning that Data Store Memory blocks are not allowed in discrete controllers?

4 views (last 30 days)
In the Model Advisor under the 'Simulink Verification and Validation > Modeling Standards' group, I enabled the check titled 'Check for prohibited sinks and data store blocks'. When I run the Model Advisor on a discrete system that contains a Data Store Memory block, I receive the following warning:
The following sink and/or data store blocks are not permitted for discrete controllers:
model/Data Store Memory
Is there something wrong with my design or will this lead to problems in the future?

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2007b (R2007b). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
The warning that you see is the result of a MAAB specification (MathWorks Automotive Advisory Board) relating to design constraints. However, this specification has been obsoleted and the change will be reflected in the Model Advisor in a future release of Simulink Verification and Validation. You can safely ignore this warning.
